Perchance: Making it as a Writer

Inspired by the advice of a well-wisher …

You haven’t got a chance!’ she declares.

‘Not a chance to make a living as a writer!

Even the best writers have another job!’

Still, I don’t listen and don’t want to hear.

Still, I take my chances.

Why can’t the other job? I think.

Why can’t my other job, be another writing job?

Taking my chances.

And chancing my luck, I fancy that I must make chances.

And, in this mode, in the mode of my own chances, I carry on writing.

Perchance.

I write poetry, short stories, travel journals, comedy gig reviews and non-fiction articles. My wish is to write my way back into the heart of my birth land. All writing commissions (and free holidays in Shropshire!) considered.
