‘Ballet Dancers’

Shiny satin, glimmers from tarnished boards,

a muscle, stretched, bursts from bulging calf, spill-

ing into a shadow, as wings, lowered, sweep into mist and

retreat.

As sun-capped scalps open to new possibilities.
